The best sources of food for fat loss are those that are packed nutritionally.
Let’s talk about those foods and how they provide you with maximum fat loss.
When you are trying to lose fat, it’s imperative that you only feed your body with the best sources of food.
When you are on a fat loss diet, you will be eating fewer calories overall.
Since you are slightly limiting the amount of food you eat, you will be limiting the nutrients you are giving your body.
Since you are already eating fewer calories and providing your body with fewer nutrients, you especially need to be aware of what you are feeding your body.
If you do not feed your body with the best sources of food, you will severely limit your progress.
You’ll most likely overtrain sooner and have to cut your fat loss cycle short. You do not want that.
What Will You Be Eating on The WLC Fat Loss Programs?
You will learn all about the exact sources of food in the diet and nutrition section, but I wanted to take a minute to introduce you to the best sources of food.
I want you to know what to expect if you haven’t read the diet and nutrition section of this website.
You have your proteins, carbohydrate, and fat sources. All foods will be categorized into one of those categories.
Best Protein Sources for Fat Loss
For protein sources, you will only be eating healthy sources of protein. The sources of protein must be from healthy sources. For example, steak from a healthy grass-fed cow is perfectly healthy for you.
It’s actually highly recommended. You can still eat great tasting food.
If the protein source contains high amounts of good fats, you can also have more of those too. Grass-fed beef high in fat includes many healthy fats.
Another example — wild caught salmon is filled with healthy fats.
Best Carbohydrate Sources for Fat Loss
Carbohydrate sources will be the toughest for most of you. You’ve got to get this through your head, though. You do not need all of those horrible carbohydrate sources you have been eating throughout your life.
You want your body to have only the best carbohydrate sources during your fat loss program. This means no candy or cokes at all.
What are the best carbohydrate sources?
If a carbohydrate source is natural, then it is a great source of energy for your body.
Carbohydrate sources will be further broken down into natural sugary carbs, natural starchy carbs, and natural fibrous carbs.
This means fruits, vegetables, beans, oats, and other natural sources of carbs will be your carb sources. If it isn’t natural, then it isn’t included in your WLC fat loss diet.
Let me quiz you…
Let’s say your goal is fat loss with the WLC System. You are about to eat a meal. You decide that your carbohydrate source is going to be a cereal bar. Is a cereal bar a good carb source? Take your time and think about it…
Is the cereal bar a natural source of carbs? Does the cereal bar grow from a tree, grow in the ground, or come from a plant?
Of course the answer is NO. The cereal bar is artificially made in some food manufacturing plant.
The cereal bar will contain products that your body just doesn’t need. A better choice would be some oats or a piece of fruit.
Best Sources of Dietary Fats for Fat Loss
Now that you’ve got the protein and carb sources figured out, how about the sources of fat?
Your fat sources will be one of two types:
The first type of fat will be fat that occurs naturally in your lean protein sources and some carb sources. You just can’t get around the fact that even lean sources of protein contain some fat.
For example, a lean chicken breast contains a few grams of fat.
You can control the other sources of fat that you eat. You will only eat good sources of fat besides the fat included in your protein sources and carb sources.
The second type of fats are good sources of fat that include fatty acid oils such as fish oil, flaxseed oil, and olive oil.
Nuts are also great naturally occurring sources of fat. There is no room for bad sources of fat in your diet like fat found in french fries, cakes, doughnuts, and candy.
The Best Sources of Food for Fat Loss Are Up to You
We’ve given you the guidelines on what foods to eat for fat loss.
The diet and nutrition section includes lists of fat burning foods.
Stick to the healthiest and nutrient dense foods for your fat burning program. The key is making good food choices at all times.
For example, an apple is more nutrient dense than a piece of white bread.
Another example, a bowl of oats slow cooked is more nutrient dense than a doughnut.
It’s not difficult to learn how to burn fat with the WLC System. The key is learning which foods are good and which foods are bad and then making the right choices.
Keep learning. Keep doing. You’ll get there soon.
