Goal setting for the WLC Program

I just purchased the WLC Program and I am creating goals.

I thought I had read that the program is not concerned about weight as much as it is about transformation.

To this end, I really want to reduce my body fat percentage down to 15%. I think I am at about 27%.

First, is a 90 day goal of 15% body fat achievable or am I being too ambitious?

Second, is that the type of goal to be stating?

I did the visualization of who I would like to look like and I think if I could look like Matthew McConaughey I would be awe struck.

I think with my body type and my age, it is a realistic goal.

Alternatively, do I want to say that I will weigh 175 pounds in 90 days? I currently weigh about 200 pounds.

Hey Adam,

So you weigh about 200 pounds now at about 27% body fat. This means...

Lean Body Mass (pounds) = 146 pounds
Fat Mass (pounds) = 54 pounds

So right now you have 146 pounds of healthy body weight and 54 pounds of unhealthy body weight.

In 90 days, you should by able to lose AT LEAST 13 pounds of body fat with no muscle loss.

This means in 90 days, you could have the following body composition:

Lean Body Mass (pounds) = 146 pounds
Fat Mass (pounds) = 41 pounds
New Weight = 187 pounds
New Body Fat Percentage = 22%

Now, a more aggressive goal would have you losing about 26 pounds of body fat with no muscle loss. This is a tougher goal to reach, but you should always set your goals high. This is what you would end up with...

Lean Body Mass (pounds) = 146 pounds
Fat Mass (pounds) = 28 pounds
New Weight = 174 pounds
New Body Fat Percentage = 16%

Now, you could definitely reach a goal of 16% or maybe less if you gain some NEW muscle mass along the way (which you probably will). If I were you, I would set the following goal for 90 days from now... remember, you have to follow the WLC Program exactly to reach these goals:

Lean Body Mass (pounds) = 149 pounds
Fat Mass (pounds) = 34 pounds
New Weight = 183 pounds
New Body Fat Percentage = 18.5%

So, your goal should be to weigh 183 pounds at 18.5% body fat at the end of 90 days.

Yes, that is the perfect type of goal to be setting. Then, attach an image of Matthe McConaughey to your goal. Go over your goals every single day and visualize your body turning into the one you want. It has to be real to you and you have to know what it feels like to reach your goal... VERY, VERY important.

Before you go to bed each night, make sure you spend some time visualizing what it's going to feel like to meet your goals. This is very powerful and will do wonders... then, all you have to do is follow the rest of the program step-by-step and you will be there before you know it!!!
