The above is all you need to have a great home gym. Everything shown is the best option for your home gym that will save you a lot of money.

For example, the adjustable dumbbell set saves you lots of money and space. That dumbbell set takes the place of 18 different sets of dumbbells that would cost you around $3000! I've done all the hard work for you. The best deals are at those links in the table above.

I've also got some optional home gym equipment for you...

gym flooring Gym Flooring

Gym flooring is a must if you plan on building a home gym. You need a surface that protects your floor from high impacts with heavy weights. You also want a floor that absorbs shock. The wrong flooring in your gym can hurt your focus.
cable system Cable System

This cable system (shown to the left) is an add on to the Powertec Power Rack shown in the table above. If you have the extra money, a cable system is a great asset. It provides you with tons of new weight lifting exercise options.
fractional plates Fractional Plates

Fractional plates are great for adding smaller amounts of weight to Olympic sized barbells/dumbbells. Making small increases in the amount of weight you lift is a great way to build strength! You must build strength to build muscle and vice versa.
plate mates Plate Mates

Plate mates can be used to add small amounts of weight to dumbbells. You can make smaller dumbbell increases other than 5 pound jumps. For example, use 37.5 pound dumbbells instead of jumping up to the 40 pounders!
smith machine Smith Machine

A smith machine can be a good piece of weight training equipment when combined with free weight exercises. This machine can add a great amount of variety to your workouts. The Smith Machine is also great for calf exercises.
trap bar Trap Bar

A trap bar was originally made to work the trapezius muscle in the upper back with shrugs. A trap bar can be used for trap bar deadlifts, which happens to be a great alternative to squats. The trap bar deadlift is a truly great exercise!

The above weight training equipment adds a new dimension to your home gym. For example, the cable system at least doubles the number of exercises you can choose from. The cable system also really help out with weighted stretching.

Don't waste your money on a home gym as shown in the image below. That's why I've built this page for you - to help you save money and have the best equipment for your home gym.

wasted space and money on this home gym

The home gym equipment shown in the image above simply wastes your money and space in your home. The exercises are inferior to free weights for building muscle and strength! There are no good compound exercises you can do with pieces of equipment similar to the above.
