What’s the true purpose of food? Is food for pleasure like so many of us are programmed to believe?
Before I go any further, you need to realize that REAL FOOD is much more pleasurable than any processed food could ever be.
If food doesn’t taste really good according to our beliefs, then we don’t want it!
And that’s where so many of us have gotten ourselves into trouble. That’s why so many of us throughout the world are overweight, obese, and are having so many health problems.
We believe junk food tastes so good because we’ve conditioned our taste buds for those tastes.
When you start eating healthy foods, you’ll see how much better REAL FOOD tastes — HUGE difference. And healthy food is not defined as some frozen dinner from the “healthy” food aisle.
When I say healthy and real food, I mean a large grass fed beef burger on a whole grain bun with a large baked sweet potato and some steamed vegetables on the side.
If you’ve never had grass fed beef, you are in for a surprise. They are tasty and so much better!
So, What’s the Purpose of Food Anyway?
The true purpose of food is to fuel our bodies. Food is fuel! Food is not for pleasure. We don’t need the greatest tasting JUNK food to survive.
We simply need food that fuels our bodies and all of the necessary processes that take place within our bodies.
Let’s start treating our bodies better by using food for its true purpose. Your body will love you for it!
You’re going to feel better, your taste buds will transform, you’ll look amazing, and you’ll start to understand how nasty junk food really is.
Food is Fuel — STOP Putting Junk in Your Body
The food you feed your body is the fuel your body runs on day in and day out.
Some people that have health problems wonder why they always feel bad. Others that get headaches all the time wonder why.
Take a second and think about the fuel you are feeding your body.
Your body is going to complain when you feed it garbage. Feed it properly, and I guarantee you’ll feel better day in and day out.
Would you stick garbage in your vehicle’s fuel tank and then wonder why your vehicle isn’t working properly?
Of course you wouldn’t!
If you want to build muscle and burn fat optimally and as fast as possible, you are simply going to have to feed your body properly. Your performance in the gym is very important for your goals, and you need to give your body the fuel it needs to perform!
And, if you want to build muscle, keep the fat off, feel better, and be a healthy person, you’re going to have to eat properly for the rest of your life.
There is no other option unless you want to be unhealthy and miserable.
Does this mean you can’t ever have a dessert? No! Eating properly simply means you are going to have to feed your body the best foods most of the time.
Eating properly doesn’t mean eating bad-tasting food the rest of your life. Real food tastes great — you’re just accustomed to eating manufactured and processed junk.
Healthy food tastes much better than junk food. After some time following the guidelines in the WLC System, you will learn that healthy food tastes much better than those processed and refined foods that you use to love!
I can’t stand junk food at all any more.
I would much rather have a nice piece of grilled salmon, brown rice, and steamed veggies than a double cheeseburger meal from a fast food restaurant. The sound of fast food makes me sick to my stomach now.
After you learn how to eat properly, you won’t want to eat bad foods any more.
Too many people use food for pleasure. The purpose of food is to keep us alive and fueled for life. Food is not for pleasure.
But — with the right attention to detail, you can eat healthy and have some great tasting food too. And you’ll have a great looking body, you’ll feel better, and you’ll be healthier than ever.
Use food to properly fuel your workouts, the muscle building process inside your body, and the fat loss process!
When you think of food as fuel for the body, you will not cheat on your diet simply to get pleasure from the taste of some unhealthy junk food.
You’ll start to notice how much better your body performs during workouts when you eat better sources of food. Your goal during workouts is to make progress and the proper fuel is needed in order to make progress each workout.
It’s Your Choice: Move Forward or Move Backward?
Do you take one step towards your goals or one step away from your goals?
Remember, everything you put in your body either takes you one small step closer to your goals or one huge step backwards.
Eat to fuel your body properly, and you’ll make the best progress of your life. Next time you feel like cheating on your diet, ask yourself if it’s worth cancelling out all the hard work you’ve done over the past few days.
Imagine what you’re doing to your fuel tank when you stick that piece of chocolate cake filled with sugar and fat down your throat. It’s just not worth it…
You’re adding body fat that weighs your body down, you decrease your performance in the gym, and you create an unhealthy body.
Every little thing counts when it comes to diet and nutrition. And that’s the truth.
No one forces you to eat or drink anything. You are in control. Take control of your life now. Eat only the best sources of food. There’s no going back from here.
