TK Knee Bands
Try these for your knees!

TK Knee Bands

TK Knee Bands are one of the best weight lifting accessories that I've ever spent money on! You may not need them, though, if your knees have never given you any trouble. If your knees have been a trouble area for you, give these a try. They will warm up your knees and keep them warm throughout your workout! They'll make you feel like you've got a new set of knees.

Bad Knees

My knees have always been a trouble area for me. I think I inherited them. My Dad has had 11 knee surgeries on his left knee and 9 knee surgeries on his right knee. He finally had his left knee replaced when he reached the minimum age his doctor wanted him to wait for. My grandfather and uncle have also had many knee surgeries and a few replacements. My knees have hurt me when I've run for cardio in the past. My knees have popped and have been sore for days after a weight lifting workout. So, I figured I should be careful and stopped the high impact cardio for the sake of my knees.

The Solution

I went looking for a solution to my problem. I didn't think I would find any accessory and was not looking for just a band aid fix. I wanted to fix my knees and be able to lift weights without them being sore. I had always gone below parallel on my squats, so I knew that wasn't the problem. I stumbled across the TK Knee Bands one day when I was looking for a new set of wrist straps on APT Pro Wrist Straps. I did some research on the bands and decided I was going to try them.

I've been wearing the TK Knee Bands now for a few years and have used them for each and every workout. I wouldn't go without them for a set of squats, barbell hack squats, lunges, or any other leg exercise. I absolutely love them. I wish I could explain the feeling they give in my knees. They make them feel very lubricated and warm. You'll have to give these a try if you're knees have ever given you any trouble. They are well worth the price! And APT has one of the best customer service departments I've ever dealt with.

The TK Knee bands did not cure my knee problems when running. I've tried running again without the knee bands and my knees still hurt. So, don't think that any knee problems you have will be miraculously healed. They did help my problems with weight lifting. My knees are never sore at all after weight lifting! They actually feel better than ever before! So, if you have knee problems when lifting weights, please keep reading.

Squats, squats, and more squats!

I don't know what is, but these knee bands really help me perform better on barbell squats. Maybe it's psychological, but maybe it's not. I just feel like I can lift more with the knee bands on. I have no cracking or popping in my knees with them on. I always had cracking and popping sounds coming from my knees before I used these.

Always make sure you're going below parallel on squats! Not going below parallel is very hard on your knees and stopping at parallel is the worst. Much of the force on your knees is taken away when you go below parallel. If you've been having knee trouble, check your form on your exercises before buying knee bands to help your knee problems. You always want to ensure that your form is good before buying anything to fix a problem. Go below parallel on every rep of every squat you ever do. Don't elevate your heels on squats. Push thru your heels. Save those knees!

If you order!

Follow the guidelines that APT provides on their site for size. Small fits up to 130 pounds. Medium fits 130 to 250 pounds. I have medium size and weigh around 230 pounds. Mine are starting to get a little snug, but their guidelines are good. If you're over 250, I'm not sure what to do because they only sell small and medium. If you have large calves and huge quads, don't try to fit into the medium's. Look for a large size somewhere else or email APT customer service.

Here's the link to the actual knee bands for your convenience: Tommy Kono Knee Bands. I would not recommend APT if they weren't a good company. Very fast shipping and very nice people!
