Is The Treadclimber Cardio Machine
By Bowflex Worth The Money?

by Joshua Tapp

I'm sure you've seen or heard about the Treadclimber by Bowflex. It's the machine that looks like a cross between a treadmill and a stepper machine.

The commercials continue to be all over the TV and probably will be for some time.

I've always been interested in one myself because I do think it's a great cardio machine.

The Tread climber reminds me of a stepper machine on steroids. I love steppers and they're very hard to find now. Steppers are very expensive cardio machines -- and so is the Bowflex tread climber.

Why do I think the treadclimber is a great cardio machine just by looking at it? Let's see...

  • Low Impact
  • Stepper Motion
  • Treadmill Motion
  • Incline

The treadclimber is like having 3 machines combined into one -- incline treadmill walking is a great aerobic exercise activity.

But for me, a cardio machine has to be worth it's cost. Is the Bowflex Tread Climber worth the money? How much does it cost?

Is The Tread Climber Really Worth Thousands of Dollars?

If you have the extra money to spend a few thousand dollars on a Bowflex Treadclimber, I would definitely get one. It's an awesome cardio machine that you can use in the privacy of your home.

But most people do not have $3000 or even $2000 to spend on any piece of cardio equipment. I know I don't. I wish I did, but I don't.

I just have other priorities in my life that need that $3K more than I need that tread climber. I can do other forms of cardio and save my money.

I personally have never purchased one of these machines and probably won't. Money isn't the only reason I haven't purchased one, though. You need to read this...

Read the Treadclimber Reviews before Buying...

I am a big believer in reading reviews on products at Amazon.com before buying anything. I love Amazon because you get real people giving you truthful reviews on products.

I love it for that reason alone.

Even if I don't buy from Amazon I get truthful opinions and reviews.

If you're thinking about spending a few thousand dollars on a cardio machine, you should read the reviews at Amazon first.

At the time of this writing, the average review of the Bowflex Tread Climber at Amazon is 3.5 stars out of 5 stars. There's some really good reviews at the link above. Those reviews will really make you think twice about spending that much money on this cardio machine.

This review caught my eye...

Part of a Review from Amazon

"At the end, you'll have to take your machine apart and fix it yourself.

Below is our tally of contacts with Bowflex after our machine broke down.

- 13 phone calls to Bowflex - too many wasted hours to recall without pain.

- 10 days delay for Bowflex to return our 1st phone call.

- 9 Bowflex representatives - some inept, 2 helpful, 1 knowledgeable.

- 3 wrong diagnoses (replacement of speed sensor, jumper wire, and circuit board).

- 3 failed attempts to take the machine apart pursuant to wrong diagnoses.

- 1 correct diagnosis (motor replacement), finally given by the 6th representative.

- 1 shipment delay due to bad data entry - wrong shipping address.

- 4 e-mails sent to 2 representatives - no reply received.

- 3 weeks delay for new motor - part not available.

- 1 run-around attempt to get supervisor's contact information - wrong information given, still no clue who's the head honcho of customer service."

Personally, even if I had the money laying around, I would not buy one until all the problems are resolved that many people are having.

These are mechanical issues that Bowflex may resolve in their newest model.

I just can't recommend this cardio machine because of it's high cost and mechanical issues that many have had. You can get great cardio workouts through other less expensive and less troublesome ways.

I hope this page has really helped you to make a better decision with your thousands of dollars. Save your money for now until Bowflex fixes their problems. They should not have put a product out costing thousands of dollars until the issues were fixed.

I have worked in the design business (I'm an electrical engineer), and these problems were probably all known issues and still released to the public... just a guess. I could be wrong.

Totally Blown Away by the WLC System...

Hi Josh,

Greetings from Australia, mate. I received your WLC Program recently and have only just got to emailing you (reason being I took quite a while exploring the entire package!!!).

I have to admit that over the past years I've purchased many programs via the internet and I can say with complete honesty that I have *never, ever*, had the pleasure of receiving one such as yours!!!

I was totally blown away by everything, from the log books, the big beefy manual, right on through to all those fantastic calculators! It comes through that you really put your all into the package. I've seen all those programs which claim to 'lay it all out for you ... paint by numbers ... take you step-by-step', etc.but only one is deserving of these claims ... and it's yours.

I especially found the goal setting information to be very, very comprehensive and so well laid out. I've read goal setting books, articles, websites, etc. but never really applied any of it to my endeavours in the gym.

Your system will have me going after my dream body with a vengeance, as I will be commencing the program this coming Monday.

In previous years I was a chronic "routine/program hopper"; I'd spot yet another new system I thought I would follow and away I'd go ... for about 3 weeks if I was lucky!

Despite all that, during some years I'd build a little muscle, lose a little fat and start looking reasonable, then slack off. I have a well equipped home gym which includes everything you recommend.

I have always been good with my meal choices but the bottom line is I was never consistent with anything!!!!

I have a very strong feeling all that is about to end - pronto! I'm really looking forward to starting the program Monday 30th August, and totally looking forward to some *real results at last*.

Oh, by the way I am 56 years old and my long-term goal is to have an awesome physique at 60 in comparison to the average one I had at 30. Thank you once again for putting out such a terrific and very complete program - I will not have any hesitation in recommending it to everyone I know.

Cheers,
Gary McDonald
