Weak Joints an Overtraining

by Nick

I have been lifting since I was about 15 on and off but for the most part consistently. I am now 20 and have noticed that lately when I work out I am getting to where I can do less and less reps and less and less weight.

This does not feel like it is because of a lack of strength so much though as weakining joints in particular the ones around my elbow. For instance when doing any form of bench press I feel fine in the lower motions but extending that last little bit and completly straightning my arms at the top becomes more and more difficult while my pecs and traps arent really tired.

I was wondering if you know why this may be happening. I have for the majority of my time lifting done heavy weights in general 3 sets of 6 reps where i always get atleast 4 but cant do more than 6.

I have always alternated my excercises every 2 to 4 weeks making sure to not do the exact same excercises or order of them over and over. As well I have always made sure to take atleast a week off every 8 weeks.

Yet for some reason I am continuingly getting weaker and doing less weight than I was the two years before.

Could allergies be the cause? I had never really had a problem with them till this year but they did not come about until a month or two after my weakining joints and loss of strength.

Nick,

Are you having pain in any certain area?

Can you describe the pain?

Or does it just feel like a weakness with no specific pain?

Warm regards,
Josh
