Weight Lifting Programs
Guidelines for choosing a program

How do you choose between all the different weight lifting programs? There are so many out there. Should you have to pay for the program? How do you know if it is a good program? Does it fit your needs? I knew how it felt when I was a beginner at weight lifting. I still remember the feeling. I just took any information I could find and ran with it.

I had no idea what I was doing or where I was going. I just knew I needed to lose some weight, but I had no clue who to follow or who to listen to. I am here to be the voice you need because I know what you need to do.

Do you have no idea where you're going? Are you like the guys in the picture below? Confused? Look no more, my friend! I have everything right here on this website for you.

Training Routines

Routines are one of the biggest and I mean biggest problems I have with all the weight lifting information out there on the internet. I cannot stand to read about training routines any more. Before we go any farther, I want you to read why Training Routines are useless. Understand the difference between weight lifting programs and weight lifting routines. Know that you need to have a plan and not just a single routine.

5 Important Guidelines that any Program for Weight Lifting must meet!

1. Is there a plan for increasing the amount of weight lifted over time? In other words, is there a planned progression of weight lifted?

2. Does the program include compound weight lifting exercises that work the entire body at once and cut down on time?

3. Are there techniques that help you avoid overtraining? or at least some way to recognize when overtraining is about to occur?

4. Are there planned breaks or planned decreases in work load?

5. Are all the major muscle groups a focus of the program?

If you answered YES to all of the five questions above, then you have a weight lifting program that was well laid out and one that will most likely work. Will it be the best program for you?

It must help you work towards your goals and not work against you. For example, if you are dieting down you will need a program that will not overtrain you because of decreased calories. You must be careful that the program does not work against you!

Please make sure that your weight lifting program gives you a stimulus for muscle growth, has a diet that fits your goals, helps you plan out your progress, gives you enough rest to grow and recover, and gets you to your goals!

Free Weight Lifting Programs

Why dish out all that money? There are many free weight training programs out there that are very good! Most of the good ones out there are better than any that you would ever pay for. There is a huge problem with these programs, though! All of the information on the program is hard to find. You may have to spend a month or so searching on a website for all the information you need.

How do you even know if the program is a good one or not? Please read Why Weight Lifting? Many times people will tell you something is good or bad without even giving it a fair chance. It goes both ways. How will you know who to believe? Well, you can believe me when I say I have one of the best weight lifting programs out there right here on this website. I include everything you need right here!

You can continue using yours if it works well for you, but please read about the program anyway.

You may get some good weight lifting tips or techniques you can add to your arsenal of weight lifting information. So read on my friend!

My program will at least meet the results your current program is giving if you are looking to build a good looking body. I have built so many things into the Weight Lifting Complete program that you will be curious just to give it a try!

Click Here to take you to the WLC Program

Or just go to the "WLC Program" tab on the website menu on the upper left.

Before you click that link, you might want to take a second to review beginner, intermediate, and advanced weight lifting. This will give you a few guidelines to consider when choosing which part of WLC you will be doing. You might want to come back later and read. This information is not very important unless you have no idea what category you belong in.

Beginner
Intermediate
Advanced

Remember, these are only my definitions so that you will be able to choose the correct WLC Program for you. I am trying to help those that do not have a clue which WLC program to choose.

You might also want to do a little reading on Weight Lifting Workouts. It's important you understand the phases of a weight lifting workout. And also read about Weight Lifting Routines. You need to understand exactly what a weight lifting routine is so you don't fall into any traps in the future.

Other Good Weight Lifting Programs

If you'd like to have some links to other good weight lifting programs or bodybuilding programs that I personally recommend, please see the links below. Remember, I would rather you choose the Weight Lifting Complete Program. WLC has given me the greatest progress of my life!

5x5 Training: This training was used by Bill Starr and Glenn Pendlay. It's good for beginners who want to gain strength. Muscle size is more of a side effect of this training. This is a good training program, but only includes info on weight training. Still a good read if you want to learn something!

Hypertrophy Specific Training: Bryan Haycock is the inventor of Hypertrophy Specific Training. This is one of the better weight lifting programs out there today. HST uses many similar concepts of the Weight Lifting Complete Program. The WLC program goes much further by providing you with everything that you need and includes many techniques not included with HST.
