List of Weight Lifting Tips

Tip #1 - Using Correct Exercise Form: You must use the correct form on all exercises. You may think you are using good form, but you might not be. If you are a self-taught weight lifter, more than likely you aren't using the best form on some of your weight lifting exercises. This is probably the number one muscle building tip! Be sure to read!

Tip #2 - Weight Lifting Mental Barrier: You might think you are about to reach failure on one of your exercises, but failure can come much quicker due to your mind telling you that you're finished! Learn how to beat this mental barrier. You learn and you build muscle like never before!

Tip #3 - Building Strength: Building strength during your weight lifting cycle should be your focus. Strength gains are a sign that your are doing things correctly inside and outside the gym. Gaining strength leads to muscle gains!

Tip #4 - Box Squats: If you really want a good exercise for the lower body, you should give box squats a shot. They feel much different than regular squats and will build you a great pair of legs! Once I started doing them, I was hooked.

Tip #5 - Romanian Deadlift: I usually group the Romanian Deadlift into the Stiff Legged Deadlift exercise, but that's really not the proper way to do it. So, I want to discuss one of the best exercises for the hamstrings. I love this exercise! Consider this a great weightlifting tip.

Tip #6 - Weight Lifting Music: Get your favorite music that gets you pumped up and ready to lift some heavy weight! I don't care what anyone says about music for helping you lift heavier weights or complete more reps. Music does help! And no one will ever convince me otherwise. If you don't listen to music, you better read this weight lifting tip.

Tip #7 - Keep a Weight Lifting Log: You must keep a weight lifting log of every workout you do. Have a plan and stick to it for each weight lifting session! This will keep you progressing. This is one of the more important muscle building tips.

Tip #8 - Get Motivated!: Motivation for weight lifting can be anything that works for you. Personally, my weight lifting progress keeps me motivated to stick to my weight lifting plan. When you see changes in your body and strength increases, you really get motivated to continue the progress. One technique that helps me is to just tell myself to stop being a baby and get going! I think about how lucky I am just to be able to have the time, money, food, and ability to lift weights. I see weight lifting as fun and nothing else!
