Exercises for Getting Cut
by: Josh -- Author WLC System

The answer here is not as simple as doing specific weight lifting exercises for your arms. Weight lifting exercises for the arms will help build muscle in that area .

Some great exercises for the arms are listed below:

Bicep Exercises

Bicep exercises that allow the use of the heaviest weights are the ones I always recommend. For example, close grip chin ups will use your body weight plus any weight you add around you waist.

The best exercises are the ones that overload the muscle as much as possible. For example, choose alternate dumbbell curls over concentration curls because you will be able to use a lot more weight for alternate dumbbell curls.

1. Alternate Dumbbell Curls
2. Close Grip Chin Ups
3. Barbell Curls
4. Incline Bench Curls
5. Preacher Curls
6. Other Types of Curls

Other compound exercises like rows and other pulling exercises will work the biceps very well too. They may actually overload the biceps even more than isolation exercises like curls.

Triceps Exercises

The same thing goes for triceps exercises. Choose the exercises that overload the muscle. Here are some good weightlifting exercises for the triceps muscle group:

1. Dips
2. Close Grip Bench Press
3. Reverse Grip Bench Press
4. Heavy Kickbacks (the right way)
5. Lying or Overhead Extensions

Many people never realize that the triceps make up the majority of the upper arm muscle mass. So many people focus on the biceps only so I'm very glad you asked about the triceps too.

And remember, heavy bench press and overhead press works the triceps very well too.

Now... the above are the best exercises for the upper arms. Let's talk about what you need to do to get cut.

Getting Cut

Cutting up the arms involves burning fat. You can't choose where to burn fat from your body. You have to focus on burning fat throughout your entire body. Your body chooses where it will burn fat.

Most people don't have very much fat on their arms and it's usually one of the first places the body will burn fat from... but everyone is different.

For women, body fat around the thighs and belly is usually the toughest area. That's usually the last place fat comes off.

For men, body fat around the waist is usually the toughest area. You know... the "spare tire." Sometimes it happens to be the abdominals or lower abdominals to be more specific.

It all depends on each individual, though.

Burning fat is accomplsihed through proper diet, the right foods, and the right amount of calories. Cardiovascular exercise and weight training are very important for burning calories.

You should start with 3 cardio sessions per week at 30 minutes starting out. Measure fat loss results each week and increase cardio to increase fat loss. You can add more cardio sessions or add more time to each session.

The fat burning strategy I use is all discussed within the WLC System Manual. It works very, very well.

In order for you to get the fastest possible results, you need a complete system and a plan including proper weight training, diet, and cardio.

If you have any other questions, please let me know. I will be glad to further help you.
