The advanced program is not a full body workout BUT most of the other phases are. Do I need to join a gym to use the WLC Program?
For example, I built a home gym one piece at a time... starting with dumbbells, then a bench, then barbells, and then a power rack. I added a few different bars and other small stuff. That's all you need to have a GREAT setup in your home. Within the WLC Program Guide, I tell you exactly what you need. If you'd rather go to a gym, a good commercial gym with free weights is all you need. You don't need a gym packed with machines. Free weights are highly recommended (barbells, dumbbells, etc). Can I use this program if I have medical problems?
If you have any medical problems, please talk to your docotr about using this program before doing so. It's very important that you talk to your doctor. Your doctor knows your health conditions much better than anyone else. Your doctor is qualified to give you advice about whether or not you're healthy enough to lift weights, exercise regularly, and eat better. I am an expert on building muscle and burning fat, BUT I am not an expert on your health. Please see your doctor. Does this program include diet and nutrition information?
Once you begin to follow the WLC Program diet and nutrition guidelines, you will be amazed at how much better you feel and how the body fat begins to disappear. You will need to ensure you are eating and combining the right vegetarian proteins to form complete proteins. Complete proteins are needed to build muscle and to keep your body functioning properly. How fast will I lose fat and build muscle? What are the typical results?
Typical results... you can lose 1 pound of pure body fat per week with no muscle loss OR you can gain 1 pound of muscle per week with no fat gain. These are 'average' results. I love what you have on your website and it really seems to make sense to me. Very self explanatory... some of us need things like this spelled out for us. I just wanted to say that I have recently started lifting weights in addition to cardio and dieting. Seems like I never have any good results with just dieting and cardio. I think you've got the best, most informative complete program I've seen. Your program covers step by step how to get in great shape and look good with diet, cardio, and weight training. Yeah, I got my form corrected on deadlifts and have added 25 pounds on my reps... with the correct form I can really feel it working my back and hamstrings more. I do know that I've made tremendous strength gains. I can see a little muscle sneaking through the flab. I feel a lot better. I've started tracking and really following the diet and other aspects of the program besides lifting. Incredible results this week. Gained 2 pounds and my waist size decreased!!! Judging by the mirror I think I am losing fat and gaining muscle at the same time. My abs are even showing up a bit more! I just finished reading the WLC program and had to shoot you an email with my commitment to doing the program with full intensity. I had a hard time sleeping the last few nights because I am so excited to get going on everything. After reading your manual I feel I know you a bit so let me give you a little background on me so you feel like you know who you are talking to. I am 26 years old, live in Utah, married for 4 years, no kids and working on a second bachelors degree in nursing. I am planning on working in the ICU for a year or two and doing a masters or doctorate level program in anesthesia. I love the program. I've mentioned it to a couple of people. 3 people have given me unsolicited comments acknowledging my progress with only 28 workouts under my belt. I'm continuing to alter my eating but not following any rigid program. I need to read more of your literature but feel good right now focusing primarily on the basic program guidelines. I would say that my lifts generally have exceeded what I initially thought I would get to, which I would attribute to strength gains along the way. Yes, I received the "Quick Start Guide" and it's been a great help... thanks. I've been lifting for 3 weeks now and tracking my diet calories on the meal planner log. When I began the program I weighed 189#. Yesterday I did the end of week measurements for the 3rd week and I weighed 197.2 lbs. Everything is going fine but I'm finding that even though I'm adding 5 lbs of weight onto every exercise for each workout I haven't really been pushed to my limits where I can't do any further reps (which is great!). I also enrolled my wife and I into our local gym just to have access to the cardio equipment. Moki Holmes
