The best ab workout is going to be a huge surprise for you.
You're probably going to be a little shocked when you hear what REALLY gives you six pack abs…
What do you think is going to give you that six pack in the shortest amount of time?
Do you have any idea? I bet you might think it's some secret ab machine that hasn't yet been released to the public. You know… like the ones they show on TV all the time.
Or, I bet you think it might be that new supplement on TV that causes instant fat loss.
Maybe it's that testosterone boosting supplement you've heard about on the radio.
Nope. None of those are it. You're probably not going to like what I'm about tell you: “There is no secret trick, ab machine, ab exercise, or supplement that's going to magically give you great abs.”
Instead… it's going to take hard work and dedication.
How To Get a Six Pack as Quickly as Possible
Here are the best things you do to get a six pack in the shortest amount of time:
- Change Your Diet
Your diet is the most important thing you can do for your abdominals.Start eating about 6 meals per day and only eat the best sources of food.
Lean protein sources, natural carbohydrate sources, and good fats will help you get the abs you want faster.
- Do Aerobic Exercise
Cardiovascular or aerobic exercise is the only activity that burns fat directly from your body.If you want to burn fat, you've got to do aerobic exercise.
Start with 3 sessions per week for 30 minutes at a medium intensity and increase as needed.
So, measure your results each week. When fat loss begins to slow, add more fat burning cardio workouts instead of decreasing food intake.
Keep food intake higher and use cardio to burn the fat away.
- Lift Weights
Weight lifting helps you build muscle.More muscle will lead to more fat burning throughout the day.
Muscle burns calories, so you need to lift weight and focus on making progress in the gym.
I have free ab workouts here at WLC that you can use to build your abs.
Combine Weight Training, Proper Nutrition, and The Right Type Of Cardio
So, the absolute best workout you can do for your abs is a combination of diet, aerobic exercise, and weight lifting.
When you include all 3 of those components, you burn fat at the fastest possible rate.
In order to see your abdominals, you must burn fat from your body.
Contrary to popular belief, ab exercises are not going to burn fat from your midsection. I repeat, ab exercises do not burn fat from your midsection.
Diet, cardio, and weight lifting will help you burn fat.
Endless sets of crunches every day will not help you get the abs you want. Start a complete weight lifting program as shown to you here on Weight Lifting Complete, and you'll be well on your way.
Start with the WLC System and your abs will begin to appear very quickly.

Your web site is great! I’m diabetic so I have to watch my diet and it fits right in with what you advocate on the site.
The only way to get fit and change your shape is proper diet, efficient cardio and strengthening exercises.
Good luck and keep the great articles coming …

Thanks for this. In a way I’m happy I wasn’t shocked. This is the way to go. The only difference I can point out from other sensible approaches is that you don’t seem to advocate for drastic reduction in calorie in-take. I think your plan is easier for people to commit to for the long term.

Hey Eric, I will never advocate for drastic calorie reduction as I’ve found along with many others that this will lead to faster weight loss.
BUT…
I want people to understand that weight loss isn’t the key. Reducing calories drastically will lead to muscle loss which helps increase weight loss. You don’t want to lose muscle, though, as that’s digging a hole that’s tough to get out of if not impossible.
If you keep calorie intake higher and therefore keep feeding your body nutrients that it needs, you will build muscle and burn body fat quickly when using WLC System principles.
As you pointed out, it is also much easier to sustain in the long term instead of people getting the yo-yo weight loss effect. Going very low calorie for long periods of time will wreck your metabolism, cause muscle loss, and lead to the “skinny fat” look that people will get from low calories.
Hope to see you around the site more often Eric! Very glad you’re here and thanks for visiting!
