For example, I once went to a concert in which the song started playing between sets.
The entire crowd went crazy when the song started playing. I could feel the amazing amount of energy from the crowd.
I use that song now during my weight lifting workout to recall all of that energy from that crowd.
I can still feel and use that energy during a tough set whenever that song starts playing… it's pretty amazing.
Any music that brings back a memory or gives you motivation to lift harder and heavier is the best workout music.
This means that there is no list of songs that works for everyone. Everyone will have their own personal list of songs that bring an emotional response.
The type of music doesn't matter — what matters is your very own personal taste. You need music that evokes emotion. That's it.
It can be country, rock, pop, rap, gospel… it doesn't matter as long as it works for you.
It also doesn't matter what anyone else thinks either. Your music is your music.
My Favorite Workout Music
My taste in music has really changed over the years I have become closer with God. I have listened to country, rap, and even heavy metal in the past and I loved all of it at different times in my life. Some of the music I listened to in the past was evil.
I got rid of that music from my life, and everything has gotten much better. I highly recommend you do the same. Even country music lyrics today disgust me. You might not think it affects you, but it does.
