Before you begin this program, there are a few tools you really need. You may already have these tools … you can start right away if so. These tools are very cheap and won’t cost you hardly anything.
Body Fat Calipers
1. Accu-Measure Body Fat Calipers
Measuring the thickness of body fat skin folds allows you to obtain your body fat %. Accu-Measure body fat calipers are cheap and have been scientifically tested and compared to other methods.
Accu-Measure calipers performed better than any of the other methods.
That’s why I highly recommend these calipers for measuring your body fat percentage.
You will use these calipers every day for the first few weeks and once per week after that. So they are needed for the program.
Please get your pair of calipers today so you can start the program as soon as possible. You will use these not only in this program but every program based on the WLC System.
Body Tape Measure
The Myo-Tape Body Measure is made for taking circumference measurements of your body.
It’s better than anything else out there that I've personally seen. I have used a sewing tape measure in the past which is also fine to use but a little more difficult.
The Myo-Tape makes it fast and easy to take measurements and the cost of the tape measure is very small – it’s worth the small amount of money.
You will be taking a lot of measurements so please get yours today.
One warning with this tape measure:
Be easy when letting it retract. The end of it can break if you let it snap back really quickly. That's the only complaint I have seen with this tape measure.
Just be extra careful not to let the tape snap back after you've pulled the tape out. The plastic piece on the end of the body measure tape may break. Be easy with it.
Precision Body Weight Scale
3. Precision Body Weight Scale
A good scale for measuring your body weight is very important. Some of you may already have a scale and that may work fine for now.
You should eventually get a scale that measures to the nearest one-tenth of a pound. This can make a huge difference on the decisions you make each week.
For example, if your scale only measures to the nearest half-pound or by 0.5 increments the scale can round up or round down and you might believe that you lost muscle or gained fat when you really didn’t.
A scale that measures to the nearest tenth of a pound or by 0.1 increments really helps you make better decisions at each weekly assessment. If you have a scale that measures to the nearest 0.2 pounds, it’s not worth getting a new one. Just use that one.
