Did Jesus Christ eat meat?
Some people will say that we should be vegetarians or vegans and that we shouldn't eat meat.
Well, my Lord and Savior is Jesus Christ. This means He is the Lord of my life. This means I'll do what He tells me to do, and I'll follow His lead.
Many people don't think there's an example of Jesus eating meat in the Bible. Some people will even say that fish isn't meat.
So, let's take a look at Genesis Chapter 18:
Genesis 18:1 (KJV) And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
This tells us that the Lord appeared to Abraham. We know that no man has seen God the Father at any time.
John 1:18 (KJV) No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
1 Timothy 6:16 (KJV) Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
1 John 4:12 (KJV) No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
Now, let's go back to Genesis Chapter 18:
Genesis 18:2 (KJV) And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
We know this must be the Lord Jesus Christ as it was definitely not God the Father. Abraham called Him: "My Lord."
Genesis 18:3 (KJV) And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
Genesis 18:4 (KJV) Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:
Genesis 18:5 (KJV) And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.
Genesis 18:6 (KJV) And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.
So, get ready for this as some people never notice this when reading the Bible:
Genesis 18:7 (KJV) And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.
Genesis 18:8 (KJV) And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.
The Bible tells us that "THEY DID EAT." What did they eat? Butter, milk, and the calf.
So, when someone tells you that Jesus Christ never ate meat, you can tell them that is a lie. Jesus ate meat. And I will do the same. Jesus is shown to us throughout the Bible because the entire Bible is a story that points to Jesus!
