I do not believe in getting rid of meat from our diets.
You see, I am a believer in the Holy Bible. I believe in OUR Almighty God and OUR Amazing Designer.
If a vegan or vegetarian diet was best for us, He would have told us within the Bible. I try to follow the Bible in everything that I do.
I am not against vegans or vegetarians as there may be some other reason for this type of diet. But, I don't believe it to be the best diet available.
It's not healthier. If it was, God would have told us this within the Bible.
We have to be careful when looking at the Bible, though, because some of the times "meat" is used this also means meat of plants.
The word meat shows up 274 times within the King James Bible (only version you should use and it's not more difficult to understand).
Genesis 1 tells us to eat the meat of every herb bearing seed and tree:
Genesis 1:29 (KJV) And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Genesis 1:30 (KJV) And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
So yes, we are commanded to eat vegetables and fruits. But now, look at Genesis 9:
Genesis 9:3 (KJV) Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
Genesis 27:7 (KJV) Bring me venison, and make me savoury meat, that I may eat, and bless thee before the LORD before my death.
Venison = meat from a deer or game of any kind (according to the Hebrew word used there)
Genesis 27:9 (KJV) Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make them savoury meat for thy father, such as he loveth:
Genesis 27:14 (KJV) And he went, and fetched, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made savoury meat, such as his father loved.
Genesis 27:31 (KJV) And he also had made savoury meat, and brought it unto his father, and said unto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, that thy soul may bless me.
I do believe that the word meat many times doesn't mean actual meat from an animal, but there are other times when it is made clear that we can eat meat. Genesis tells us this.
Colossians 2:16 (KJV) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Romans 14:20 (KJV) For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
Now, I do believe in ONLY the best sources of meat that are grown and taken care of in the right ways. I don't believe in shooting animals full of steroids and antibiotics so someone can make larger profits.
This is why I believe in getting meat and food from small local farms and from people you know. This is love for your fellow neighbor. Farmers need our support and they work extremely hard. They aren't making huge profits from you purchasing food for them. The big food companies find ways to make our food unhealthy just for profit. I'm tired of that.
No matter if you agree with me or not on veganism and vegetarianism, you should agree that we should help our local farms and support them as much as we can.
I hope this helps explain my views for you.
