Drinking water is very important to your weight lifting program, fat loss results, and overall health.
I think you might have even under estimated the importance of water.
Just a slight state of dehydration STOPS fat burning in its tracks and decreases your strength instantly.
You need to know how much water to drink, and you need to start drinking that much EVERY DAY.
And remember, too much water can be bad for you too so stick with only the recommendations and not any more than that.
This website is your complete guide to weight lifting and in order for your weight lifting program to be complete you must drink enough water. Most likely, that's going to be more water than you're drinking right now.
Increase your daily water intake starting today. Follow the guidelines given on this page.
How Much Water Do I Need?
There's not going to be a specific amount of water for every single person that reads this.
So, I am going to just give a simple answer that will work for MOST people.
Drink a gallon of water a day, and I mean only pure water.
This recommendation is for people who live in average climates, workout regularly, and eat right.
Do not count your protein shakes or your orange juice or your milk. I want you to drink a gallon of water throughout the day of pure water.
Counting all the other liquids you drink and this extra gallon of water, you should have plenty of fluids throughout the day. Don't underestimate the importance of water.
If you want a more exact answer on how much will work for you, please see the WLC System manual.
There's an entire section within that manual that will give you an exact amount that fits YOU better.
“BUT, I'm Not Sure I Can Drink THAT Much Water”
Well, why not? Drinking water is not hard to do.
First step you need to take is to get rid of all those useless liquids you've been drinking. Cut out the cokes, diet cokes, sweet tea, fruit juices, energy drinks, coffee, and any other crap that you might be throwing in your body.
Drink pure and clean water instead. Doesn't that sound better?
Just think about the gunk you put in your body. I can't drink any of those sugary drinks just because it feels like I'm dumping gunk into my body.
It's like pouring sugar in your car's gas tank! Your engine doesn't want that!
Think of your body as your engine that keeps you running.
In order to build muscle and lose fat, you need to give your body all the nutrients it needs to do so! Your daily water intake is no different.
Your body needs water to function properly. Weightlifting and other exercise increases your body's demands for water.
With that said, increase your daily water intake and start building more muscle and losing more fat. Perform better in the gym with more water. Now, don't overdo the water intake. Follow the guidelines on this page.
Get yourself a water jug or bottle.
I always carry a half gallon water bottle with me to work and sit it at my desk. I drink it throughout the day and try to finish it in the early afternoon.
I know that I'll get my other half gallon in with my workouts and meals that I have remaining. Make sure to drink you lots of water with each of your meals.
When buying a water bottle make sure you get one that doesn't have a plastic strap to the lid that might wear down and break in a few weeks.
I've bought a few like that before I finally learned. Check them out before buying. A good water bottle will make drinking water much easier for you.
When it comes down to it, you really can do anything you set your mind to do. I've seen it over and over throughout my lifetime. Now, this has to be within reason and you have to work hard to reach a lofty goal.
Simply start drinking water. That's all there is to it.
Drinking plenty of water each day is an easy goal to reach, and it will help you so much more than you think.
You'll Love The Results You Get From Drinking Water
After a while of nothing but drinking water, you'll start to love it and will want nothing else to drink but water.
Water is my favorite beverage.
Sometimes, at a restaurant, people will think that I just don't want to pay for a drink but those people just don't understand. I tell them that I like to drink water and they get this confused look on their face ??? ??? ???
WOW!!!
I can't believe the reaction I get from some people when I tell them I only drink water and milk.
Do you realize that most people in the United States probably never drink plain water? People act like they can't drink just water. It's amazing to me. Don't be one of those people. Water is the drink of a weight lifter.
There are other drinks too that are very good for you. Tea is one of those drinks. Of course, without all the added sugar.
Just Wait Until You See The Amount Of Money You Save
I guarantee you'll save a ton of money by switching over to drinking only water.
I don't think you realize how much money you could save. I bet you could put yourself through college just by not drinking all of those wasteful beverages that you drink everyday.
Let's talk about fruit juices for a minute…
Let me tell you, those fruit juice drinks loaded with sugar are not what most people think they are. Most of them are like eating candy because they're not real fruit juices! So, stop buying fruit juices that are not real.
Most of the juices you drink are just piling those layers of fat around your belly. Stop fooling yourself. Substitute water for fruit juices. Eat fruit in your diet.
You'll get more benefits when you actually eat fruit instead of relying on fruit juices.
How much money will you save?
Let's do a little calculation here. I love calculations so let me take care of the hard part:
Let's say you drink 4 soft drinks per day just while you are at work. I'd say that's about right for most people. I am also counting coffee from Starbucks or any other drink such as juice that you may drink in the morning.
Let's estimate that you drink another 2 glasses after you get home from work. Maybe a beer, a coke, or some wine. That is 6 drinks per day, which is horrible anyway because you need much more liquid than that.
6 drinks per day at around $1 per drink. This probably averages out just about right for most people that I know that drink soft drinks and other things.
That comes out to about $2000 per year and this is probably a low estimate.
That's why the soft drink manufacturers can afford multi-million dollar commercials for the Super Bowl every year.
For those that buy drinks at restaurants, you spend much more than $2000 per year on drinks. I've been there myself.
A night out with friends can cost you up to $50 in drinks. Most people probably spend at least $3000 per year on drinks other than water.
You'll be healthier and have much more money in your pocket if you start replacing all those unhealthy drinks with water. Drinking water should be a top priority.
If you'd like a little change with more health benefits, get yourself some green tea extract in powder form.
The bottom line? Just drink water.
“Drink around a gallon of water each day. With an increased protein intake and the new demands of working out, your body really needs the extra water.”
Do not take drinking water lightly.
It is very important for your health and your weight lifting results.
Get yourself a water bottle and increase that daily water intake!
