A pull up station is a very important piece of weight lifting equipment.
Some people may call this piece of weightlifting equipment a pull up tower or chin up machine.
No matter what name you use, you need to have a station in your home gym to do Pull Ups and Chin Ups.
You don't have to have a pull up station like the one shown in the image.
If you have a power rack in your home gym, you may already have a pull up bar available — and you may even have a dip station.
Most pull up towers will come with dip bars, push up bars, and an abdominal leg raise machine.
If you don't have a chin up machine or dip station, a pull up tower is a great investment for your home gym.
Pull ups, chin ups, and dips are 3 of the best upper body exercises you could ever do. If those exercises are easy for you, you definitely need to start adding extra weight by hanging weight from a belt.
If you haven't been doing different variations of Pull Ups and Chin Ups, you're really missing out on your total body development. And I mean REALLY missing out.
For example, wide grip chin ups with your palms facing away really build your upper back width. Your waist will look smaller the bigger you build your back.
A small waist and a big upper back looks great.

Pull Ups are a Measure of Strength
Pull Ups are one of the most well-known weight lifting exercises on the planet.
Pull Ups are the measure of strength used by many different groups of people and organizations. Your strength is measured by the number of Pull Ups you can do.
For example, many different police academies measure strength by the number of pull ups or chin ups you can perform.
Many military groups throughout the world also use Pull Ups and Chin Ups as a measure of strength.
Being able to do Pull Ups is a huge accomplishment because the VAST majority of people throughout the world cannot even do a single pull up!
If you live in the USA, most people around you wouldn't even think of doing a Pull Up because obesity is running rampant.
In reality, you should and will be able to add a lot of weight around your waist with a weight belt and do pull ups with all that extra weight. I'm not the strongest person in the world but I have added over 100 pounds to my 240 pound body weight.
And you can do the same.
Before long, you'll be able to add weight around your waist and perform Pull Ups with heavy weights. Your body has an amazing amount of strength… you just have to learn how to take control of that strength.
Whatever You Do, Don't Buy An Assisted Chin Up Machine
Many people cannot do pull ups, chin ups, or dips. This is normal for an untrained person.
So many people will see these assisted machines and believe them to be a good piece of weight lifting equipment so they can work themselves up to body weight pull ups and dips.
Let me stop you before buying one of them. There are much better options out there.

You'll even be adding extra weight to your body while doing pull ups and dips. It's going to be very fun for you.
I remember not being able to do a single pull up or dip when I first started. I have now added over an extra 100 pounds to my body weight for both pull ups and dips. You can do the same. People are amazed when they see you doing that type of weight.
And that makes it fun!
