The TK waist band is another great weight lifting accessory that I recommend to everyone.
Even if you don't have lower back problems, you should give this a try because it keeps your lower back feeling great.
You can use this during your entire workout if you want.
I personally take it off for exercises in which I use the hip belt for, but after those I put it back on. The hip belt makes the band slip down due to all the weight pushing down on the band.
Just about everyone gets lower back soreness when lifting heavy weights for several weeks at a time.
If you've never had lower back soreness, you are one lucky weight lifter.
If you think about it, you use your lower back throughout the entire workout and I don't mean during the exercises. You pick up weights, weight plates, dumbbells, barbells, and so on during your workout to get ready for your exercises.
You're using you lower back the entire time. Plus, you use your lower back on just about every exercise there is…
No wonder the lower back gets so stiff and sore sometimes, right? As you get stronger and stronger, the weight you are lifting and picking up throughout each weight lifting workout continues to get heavier and heavier.
I've taken many initiatives when it comes to alleviating lower back pain.
I use the hip belt for many of my calf exercises so I don't add extra stress to the lower back. I make sure to not choose too many exercises that really stress the lower back during weight lifting cycles.
I've even started putting the heavier dumbbells and heavier weight plates on the higher racks and higher plate holders so I don't have to bend over to pick the heavier weights up… you should do the same. You might as well save your lower back now.
Protect Your Lower Back
Even after taking all of those initiatives I listed above, I decided to protect my lower back as much as possible during weight lifting without the use of a weight lifting belt.
I want my lower back to be strong, but I don't want it to be sore all the time.
And I'll tell you that the TK waist band is a savior for my lower back. For about 30 dollars, you can have something that you know will keep your lower back warm and safe.
This TK band has been around for a long time, and it's still going strong. So, you know it works if it's been around for 40+ years. I spent the money on one after using the TK Knee Bands and seeing how great they worked for my knees.
The waist band works just as well for your lower back. I wear it for the majority of my workout, and I absolutely love this thing.
Fitness professionals everywhere stress warming up for a workout as one of the most important things you can do to prevent injury. Well, this TK Band keeps your lower back and midsection warmed up the entire time you wear it.
Help prevent injury to your lower back by getting you one of these. One size fits all, so you don't even have to worry about getting the correct size.
Proper Form And Technique Is ALWAYS Top Priority
Don't ever forget that good form on an exercise is the most important thing you can do to prevent injury. Don't ever buy weight lifting accessories to make up for bad form on an exercise.
Practice perfecting your form on exercises before adding any weight to the bar. If you had less than ideal form on an exercise, do not increase the weight your next workout.
Once your form gets better, then increase the weight.
Increasing weight with less than perfect form is why weight lifters become injured. You've got to have good form before you increase the weight.
I've had my waist band for a few years now and it still looks brand new. And I use mine during every workout. So, this is a good investment for your lower back that will last you several years and maybe your entire lifetime.
