Today… I'm going to share the real truth about ab exercises:
Since I was not only called a MORON today but a ‘Fantastic Moron' for my views on ab exercises…
I decided I would set the record straight on ab exercises once and for all.
If you want to see what sparked me to write this page… you can see the comment given to me by a visitor to the website a little further down this page.
Today, I am going to tell you why you shouldn't waste your time doing so many ab exercises all the time.
BUT I'm also going to make sure you understand EXACTLY what I mean so you don't call me a moron too.
In all seriousness, I want you to finally get that strong and lean midsection that you've always wanted.
This is how you do that with the truth about ab exercises:
Fact or Fiction? You Need to Do Ab Exercises to Get Six Pack Abs
This is definitely fiction. You don't have to do ANY ab specific exercises to get six pack abs.
Here's exactly what you should do instead…
Use a full body workout program filled with compound weight lifting exercises.
You will not only build muscle that burns more body fat, but you'll stoke your metabolism because you're working so much muscle mass in each workout.
Then, eat only the healthiest foods which happen to be lean meats, natural carbohydrates, and essential fats. There's no room for processed foods or unhealthy foods if you want six pack abs.
Cardiovascular exercise is the last piece of the fat burning equation and a MUST for burning body fat.
Fact or Fiction? You MUST Do Ab Specific Exercises to Strengthen Your Core
Definitely FICTION. This is one of my specific views that got me the MORON name from an expert visitor — but you can trust me when I say that this is still definitely fiction even though I was called a moron over it.
Ab specific exercises will strengthen your core if done in a progressive manner. But why waste time doing ab specific exercises when you can get an even better workout for the abs with compound weight lifting exercises.
I hate to break it to the people who design all these core programs and make them sound so great, but really…
They don't compare to a good full body workout program in terms of working and strengthening the core.
The woman who called me a moron can take her body weight ab exercises, and I'll take my 400 pound squats, 500 pound deadlifts, 100 pound 1-arm overhead press, 300 pound rows, and pull ups with 100 pounds added.
We will see who has a stronger core. What do you think? Some crunches and some ab roller exercises compared to 500 pound deadlifts… who do you think will have a stronger core?
Trust me on this… you don't need ab exercises if you use a full body workout program filled with compound weightlifting exercises.
I really hope she realizes the core strength it takes to perform heavy squats, heavy deadlifts, and even heavy weighted pull ups. I don't need a hanging leg raise to strengthen my core.
It's a waste of time.
And that's the truth about ab exercises. I'm tired of all these “core” exercise programs taking your hard-earned money.
Fact Or Fiction? Ab Exercises Must Be Done For Good Posture And To Prevent Back Pain And Lordosis
The woman who called me a moron thinks you need to do ab exercises to strengthen your abdominals since you have bad posture, lower back pain, or even lordosis.
The woman obviously doesn't understand the big picture.
Sometimes you have to take a step back and look at the BIG picture. Ab exercises aren't going to fix your posture, aren't going to prevent lower back pain, and aren't going to prevent lordosis on their own.
Strengthening your abdominals and core is BEST ACHIEVED with a full body workout program that focuses on compound weightlifting exercises.
And guess what?
A full body workout program complete with a healthy meal plan and cardiovascular exercise WILL greatly improve your health, help you feel better, and even cure and prevent lower back pain.
I have always preached a COMPLETE program from the beginning of this website.
The website is named Weight Lifting COMPLETE for a reason. To get the full benefits of ANY workout program, you need more than just a bunch of ab exercises.
If you take a look at this website, you will find categories that form a COMPLETE weight lifting program.
If you have bad posture that you need to work on, there's better ways than adding a bunch of ab exercises. You can add some mobility and core exercises before and after each weight lifting workout as a warm up and cool down.
You definitely don't need crunches to improve your posture.
Bottom Line: Common ab exercises don't come close to the benefits of a full body workout and a complete program. I don't include many specific ab exercises and many times NONE because they are a waste of time. I'm not into wasting time in the gym.
So yes… the truth about ab exercises is that most of the common ab exercises are totally useless if you are using a good weight training program.
Fact or Fiction? Your Spine Will Collapse Without Ab Exercises
Here's how this woman (who I have never met or talked with before) contacts me for the very first time… isn't this nice?
“Wow this makes you sound like a fantastic moron. Youre right CORE exercise may not burn fat and give you a “six-pack” but they are highly necessary for strengthening your core… you know that thing that HOLDS UP YOUR SPINE. And with an overwhelming amount of adults that complain about lower back pain (80% to be exact) that is largely contributed to the fact that they have a weak core/abdominals, one would think you would post such ignorant comments.”
I'm not sure she realizes who she is talking to or what website she visited. She visited a weight lifting website.
Guess what? Any time you lift weights, your core must work to stabilize you!!!
If you lift some dumbbells off the rack and carry them over to a bench, you are working your core.
When you lift a weight from the ground, you are using your core. When you lift a weight over your head, you are using your core to stabilize the weight. You are building a STRONG and POWERFUL core without ab exercises.
What's the purpose of your core? “The purpose of core training is to strengthen the muscles that stabilize your body.”
What better way to strengthen your core than lift heavy weights that require your body to be stable? If you think some ab exercise using your body weight will strengthen your core better than lifting HEAVY weights, you are CRAZY. Crazy I said.
Think about doing dumbbell bench presses and getting the weight into position to lift… you use your core and are using heavy weights at that.
So the truth about ab exercises is they don't compare to heavy compound weightlifting exercises for strengthening your core… not even close.
Fact or Fiction? People Who Don't Exercise and Have Posture Problems Should Do Ab Exercises
Posture problems, lower back pain, and other problems related to weaknesses in your core and abdominals aren't going to be solved by simply adding some ab exercises into your life.
If you are having lower back pain and posture problems, this is probably due to your lifestlye. Your belly is probably starting to hang over your pants because of the lack of the right type of exercise and your unhealthy diet.
You may have tried to eat healthy, but the lies at the grocery and on TV probably stopped you.
If you stick to this website, I will will guarantee you get rid of the common aches and pains that my new friend Melissa says 80% of people now have.
Of course for Melissa, this couldn't be due to the fact that so many people are now considered over weight and obese.
If you take a look at the people around you, you won't find very many fit and healthy people. Bellies will be hanging over and lower backs will be hurting.
The fix for these lower back pains and posture problems? You have to get to the base of the problem… and that is your lifestyle. You have to make a COMPLETE and DRASTIC change.
It's time to start a weight lifting program. It's time to eat natural and healthy foods ALL THE TIME. It's time to do cardiovascular exercise.
It's time to drink plenty of water and cut all the sodas, diet sodas, and fruit drinks. NOW is the TIME… right now.
