You will be eating lots of different foods throughout the day. Every meal that you have should be filled with various foods. There are no snacks like only an apple. You’re only going to have meals consisting of numerous foods and healthy ingredients. I want you to flood your body with various nutrients.
You should have protein every 3 hours while you are awake. The reason is… your body cannot store protein and most traces of it disappears from your bloodstream 3 hours after a meal that contains protein (a general rule to follow since you want to maximize all muscle building opportunities).
Each meal throughout the day is balanced with protein, carbohydrates, and fat for reasons.
Carbohydrates are protein sparing while fiber and fat slows digestion of food and keeps blood sugar levels stable throughout the day.
Have a meal right before you go to bed, and never worry about eating something throughout the night. Uninterrupted sleep is MUCH more important than getting some protein in during the night.
Some people actually wake up throughout the night just to drink a protein shake. This will only lead to worse results. Do not interrupt your sleep, and definitely do not interrupt your sleep to drink a protein shake consisting of ONLY whey protein.
Stay consistent and have a meal every 3 hours (approximately) throughout the day. Some planning will make this very easy to do.
For example, if you know you’re going to be in a meeting throughout the day… you should have a few pre-made protein shakes with oats and flax oil ready to drink on your 2 minute breaks from the meeting.
It’s not difficult to eat every 3 hours throughout the day. I only take 3 pre-made meals with me for work days. I eat a big breakfast before I go to work. I then eat a meal at the 2 break times and then at lunch. I then have my next meal scheduled for when I get home from work. You can do the same.
Just plan and schedule your meals. It’s not difficult, and you’ll get much better at this as you strive to make improvements each day. Everything will get much easier for you as you learn how the WLC System works.
