Weight training routines are single workouts with no purpose behind them except to give you a good workout ONCE.
And I stress the word: “ONCE.”
Anyone who only takes weightlifting routines from websites or magazines and does them one after another will only look the same year after year.
How do you know where you're going or what you're trying to do?
String a bunch of these one time wonder routines together over a year and you have one big waste of time, money, and effort!
You have no plan for progression of any kind when you choose a single workout routine.
You are doing different exercises and have no basis for comparison between the exercises.
Do you think the big strongmen competitors have a plan for progression? What about the champion body builders? You don't think they plan out their year and how they're going to get better?
Don't change routines and exercises constantly.
Choose the best weight lifting exercises and stick with them until you are no longer getting any stronger. This should take a long time.
Work on progression from workout to workout. Always strive to get better. This is the key to success in weight lifting.
When you reach a point where you are not getting stronger, please let me know and I'll help you figure out what's going on.
Sometimes you have to decrease the weight on exercises to further increase and continue your strength gains. Sometimes your diet may be the culprit.
Other times your sleep or water intake may be too low.
Any time you see something similar to this…
Training Routine: You will gain 1 inch on your arms in one workout. Or get six pack abs in only 1 week!!!
You are being conned and lied to… don't fall for that stuff any more.
You should know when you are being conned into something you should stay away from. I see so much of this on every website that I look through.
People are trying to make money that really have no idea what they're doing.
This is sad, but it's all about the money. I could have chosen to go that route, but that's not what I'm here for. It's nice to make money, but I will never lead you in the wrong direction for money.
You can trust me, and that's hard to find in the world of weight lifting, muscle building, and fat loss.
Who Wants To Look The Same Week After Week?
If you go from weight training routine to weight lifting routine over and over and never concentrate on getting better on each exercise, you will look the same week after week, year after year.
Who wants that?
I know I don't, and I know you don't!
Do you know the people that go to the gym and have no plan? They just walk around doing whatever exercises they want. They don't even know what weight they did last time and how many reps they completed.
They're not even sure what exercises they did. They keep no record of anything.
Have you seen the people who come in the gym and bench press every single workout?
They use the same weight every time, and walk around trying to give advice to everyone. “Hey, look how much I can bench press! I must know what I'm talking about.”
PLEASE do not be one of these people. These people stay the same and look the same year after year. If your goal is to look the same year after year, then by all means, just do the same training routine over and over.
But who wants to look the same? No one I know. If you're working hard in the gym, you want to see results. You want to see good changes.
I know it's cool to change weight training routines every workout and it impresses people when you come up with some off the wall weightlifting routine that is tougher than anything known to man, but come on!!!
Make some real progress by getting better each and every workout. Now that's what impresses me and everyone else!
Start Weight Lifting The RIGHT WAY…
You need to choose a complete weight lifting program that's designed to help you lift heavier weights over the course of the program.
A detailed exercise program gives you a purpose. Just don't be one of those people that change their weight lifting program every week. A good program will keep you interested because it will give results.
Just be patient. Building muscle and losing fat takes time.
Don't set your expectations so high that you are disappointed with your results. When you do this, you set yourself up for failure by continuing your journey to find a magical weightlifting routine.
NEWS FLASH: There are no magical training routines!!!
A good weight lifting program will have you set goals and then help you achieve those goals.
You feel good about yourself because you are progressing. You are looking better and better every day. You are getting stronger, building muscle, and losing fat.
You are healthier. You feel great because you have a purpose and you are getting what you want.
If your goal is to be big and strong, you are not going to look like the guy in the picture below overnight. How long do you think it took that guy to get where he is today?
Years and years of hard work and dedication is what it took for the guy above to get where he is today.
I guarantee you he had goals and made a plan to execute those goals.
I bet he never used training routines with no plan or strategy.
He always had a plan and a strategy for every workout program. That's how you get it done with weight lifting.
Always have a plan. And one that you know works.
Time, Effort, and Consistency Along With A Good Weightlifting Program
It takes time and consistency. It takes effort. It takes hard work along with an intelligently designed weight training program.
The same thing goes for everyone else with goals. If you are really overweight, you need to give yourself some time to reach your goals. If you are very skinny, you're going to need some time to get bigger.
Single training routines do not take time or consistency into consideration and therefore do next to nothing for you. Ditch the training routines today.
Be realistic about reaching reaching your goals and you will have a better chance of ignoring all the magazines and websites out there that give you false hope.
Ignore training routines that have no purpose in helping you meet your goals! Go with a good weight lifting program that helps you reach your goals over a period of time.
A single workout is not going to do much for you at all. It takes a bunch of consecutive workouts in which you are making progress in order for you to see results.
How do you choose the right program for you? Study this website and you will know.
Let Me Give You an Example of a Worthless Weight Training Routine
Just in case you're unsure of what I mean, I wanted to give you a quick example before we end this post.
Here's an example of a weight lifting routine that is totally worthless because you have no plan of progression from workout to workout and there's no way your body could sustain this type of beating for consecutive workouts:
Quads, Hamstrings, and Calves Workout Routine
1) Drop Set of Barbell Squats
2) Superset with Leg Extensions
3) Pre Exhaustion Lying Leg Curls
4) Superset with Stiff Legged Deadlifts
5) Triple Drop Set of Leg Press Calf Raises
This workout will really cut into your recovery and make you sore for several days. You might barely be able to walk a day or two after the workout.
And guess what?
The only muscle gains you'll have is the increase in muscle size after the workout due to inflammation in the muscle from the damage you did. Once the inflammation goes down, you'll be back to normal size again.
The only way to consistently build muscle is increase the weight from workout to workout, and the workout routine listed above takes too much recovery time and will have you overtraining after only a few workouts.
You could rest longer in between workouts but then you are wasting precious muscle building opportunities.
Start using an intelligently designed weight lifting program. Use the WLC System.
