There are what seems like an endless number of weightlifting programs out there.
How do you know which one is the best?
What should you look for in a weight training program?
We're going to show you what to look for in a weight lifting program…
So you meet the goals YOU want to meet. While we're on that subject, what are your goals? Do you want more lean muscle mass and less body fat? Or do you just want to get stronger? Do you want to lift weights for health reasons? Or do you just want it all?
Let's talk more about weightlifting programs and how to choose the best program for you…
Here's What to Look For in a Good Weight Lifting Program… This Might Surprise You:
When someone wants to start a weight training program, they most likely go to Google and search for ‘Weightlifting Programs' or something similar.
If I were a beginner and didn't know much about weight lifting, I know I would be very confused. You have wanna be experts all over the Internet telling you how their method is right and you better do it THIS way.
In reality, many of those so-called experts are teenagers just starting out or other people who have no idea what they are doing. Trust me… I've been a part of message boards before, and I've seen it all.
So, what I want to do here today is tell you exactly what to look for in a weight lifting program.
I don't want anyone fooling you into wasting your time and effort. My job here is to help you find something that works great for you.
Choosing a Weightlifting Program Guideline #1 MUST Include a Plan for Progression
Most of the time… you'll find workout programs or routines on websites and forums that simply give you a list of exercises, number of sets, and number of reps to do each workout.
But you know what you never get with those weight lifting programs?
Many of them never tell you how or when to increase the amount of weight you are lifting. You never get a real plan to make progress.
The most important factor in any weight training program is increasing the amount of weight you are lifting on a regular basis. 99% of programs are not designed to help you do so.
If you are thinking about using a weight training program, you MUST make sure you know when you are going to increase the weight. You must have a plan to do so if you want results.
Choosing a Weightlifting Program Guideline #2 MUST Focus on Building Muscle and Strength
A weight training program MUST not focus on burning fat or burning calories. Many programs out there today use strength training as a method of burning calories and that's it.
For example… Have you seen those programs on TV that have a group of men and women all doing the same thing?
Some of those fitness programs on Television have been on for years. Have you noticed those people never change? Their boy never improves. Why is that?
Because they do the same thing over and over. The don't focus on building muscle or strength. They simply use resistance training to burn calories.
You want a weight lifting program that focuses on building muscle and strength. Fat loss is achieved by manipulating your diet and cardiovascular exercise.
If you simply use weight lifting to burn calories, you'll just go through the motions and that's about it. Your body will never improve because you aren't doing anything to make it change.
Choosing a Weightlifting Program Guideline #3 Works ALL the Major Muscle Groups with the Best Weightlifting Exercises
The best weightlifting programs will always use free weights along with the best compound weightlifting exercises. For example, every good program will include some form of squats, deadlifts, bench press, rows, dips, and pull ups.
Compound weight lifting exercises allow you to use heavy weights. Heavy weights do magical things to your body.
I've seen it happen time after time. As a person increases the weight each workout, the body begins to build muscle and burn body fat. The results are amazing.
What else do compound weight training exercises let you do?
Compound exercises work each muscle group unlike any other. Many people spend hours upon hours in the gym doing useless isolation exercises like 6 sets of concentration curls followed by 6 sets of cable curls and that's just for the biceps.
With the use of compound exercises, you'll overload the muscle groups MUCH better and more efficiently. You'll only do a few sets to stimulate growth in the muscle growth and then you'll rest and recover from the workout.
The real muscle growth occurs when you're out of the gym. When you're in the gym, you are only trying to apply the correct stimulus to trigger muscle growth after your workout is complete.
Compound exercises are the best method of stimulating muscle growth because you work so much more muscle mass and you overload each muscle group with heavy weights.
The best weightlifting programs will ALWAYS include compound weightlifting exercises.
Choosing a Weightlifting Program Guideline #4 The Best Weightlifting Programs NEVER Stand Alone
You might be wondering what I mean by ‘standing alone' … Well, the best weightlifting programs are going to not only teach you how to lift weights properly BUT they will teach you several other things too that are VITAL to your success:
Proper Diet and Nutrition for Building Muscle and Burning Fat
You need to be eating the best muscle building and fat burning foods. You should flood your body with the nutrients it needs each day — all day long.
The best weightlifting programs will tell you exactly what you should be eating, when to eat, and what foods to combine. If the program doesn't do this, you don't need that program.
Rest and Recovery Techniques so You Build Muscle Between Workouts
You should be getting plenty of rest and recovery time between workouts. You want to rest BUT you don't want to rest too long and waste your time.
Most programs have you working each major muscle group once per week… This isn't often enough. The best weightlifting programs will have you lifting weights at the perfect frequency and intensity for you.
A Cardiovascular Exercise Plan That Actually Burns Body Fat Fast
Many people do the same type of cardio, same amount of cardio, at the same intensity workout after workout. They never make progress. They simply waste their time.
Instead of wasting your time, you should be getting results from each workout. A good weight training program will include a cardio plan that helps you burn body fat each workout.
How to Set Goals and Tap Into the Power of Your Mind to Reach Any Goal You Want
If you really want to meet your goals, you have to put some work into goal setting. You've got to tell your mind what you want. Negative thoughts aren't going to help you reach your goals.
You MUST learn how to program your mind to help you move towards your goals. When you do, you will be amazed at what your mind can do.
Tips, Tricks, and Secrets You Can Use to Help You Lift Heavier Weights During Your Workouts
The best weightlifting programs will help you get stronger from workout to workout. What do I mean? Well, the program must be designed to help you get stronger…
For example, one of the tricks I use when designing programs is starting out each weight lifting cycle with higher reps and lower weight. From there, I have you increase the weight EVERY workout while decreasing reps as needed.
Some other tricks include the right weight lifting music to give you instant strength gains, visualization during exercise, and many other secrets. All of the good programs will teach you these things.
Methods of Tracking Your Progress Each Week so You Know When to Make Changes
The human body is simply amazing… it really is — Our body was designed to adapt to any situation. We're made for survival.
So anything you do… your body will adapt to it. The best method of preventing adaptation of a weight training program is to increase the weight every workout.
Many weightlifting programs tell you to just increase the weight whenever you can… That's WRONG. Your body adapts quickly. If you want fast results, you need to increase the weight EVERY workout.
You should be tracking the amount of muscle you gain each week along with the amount of fat you lose each week. If you aren't getting optimal results or results start to slow, you MUST make changes.
A good program will teach you how to measure your results and make the right changes when needed. If the program you're thinking about using doesn't teach you this, don't waste your time with it.
So What Weightlifting Programs Do We Recommend Here at Weight Lifting Complete?
I've been weight training for about 10 years now. I've came across several different weightlifting programs that work pretty well.
But I always ran into several problems with these weight lifting programs. One of them might be great with the weight lifting workouts but lacked in the diet and nutrition category. One was great for about 6 weeks but I'd overtrain rather quickly and have to start over.
I learned a lot from many of those programs, but not one of them was ever a COMPLETE program. After several years of learning how to build muscle and burn fat, I decided to put my own program together: A COMPLETE PROGRAM.
So I developed the WLC System from scratch using everything I had learned over the years.
I wanted the weight lifting program I developed to be the best in the world. And I believe that's what I've done… so of course, I HIGHLY recommend the WLC System because I am the creator.
The WLC System Guide teaches you step-by-step how to build muscle and burn fat as quickly as possible. Here's what's included in the WLC System:
- Weight Lifting Guidelines, Tips, Tricks, and Secrets
