The Zercher Squat is one of my favorite versions of the squat and really helps you to increase your strength on other versions of the squat like the Low Bar Squat.
As shown in the video above, you don't even need a power rack or any type of squat rack to do this exercise. It's very safe since the weight is not on your back. You are able to safely drop the weight from any position if needed.
If you're doing Zercher Squats, you can save some time and get rid of another ab exercise out of your workout program. The Zercher Squat works the core musculature very well. You'll feel the core working as you complete each lift.
Just make sure you start out with very light weights and let your body become acclimated to the movement before you begin to increase the weights.
And when you do begin increasing the weight, increase it in small amounts. I really think you'll like the Zercher Squat!
